Some foundation cracks are shrinkage cracks that leak during storms. Others move, widen, or indicate structural stress. We review crack width, pattern, location, moisture, and movement before choosing polyurethane, epoxy, routing, or a larger waterproofing scope.
Polyurethane vs Epoxy
Polyurethane injection is flexible and well-suited for active water leaks because it expands to seal the path. Epoxy injection is rigid and used where structural bonding is the priority. On some cracks, water control and structural repair are separate steps.
Costs and Response
Foundation crack injection starts at $650, with many GTA repairs landing around $800 to $1,200 depending on access, crack length, activity, and whether finishing materials must be removed. Active leaks can often be assessed same day to 48 hours.
When Injection Is Enough
Injection is often enough for a localized crack where the foundation is otherwise sound and drainage conditions are manageable. It is not a substitute for exterior waterproofing when the wall has widespread deterioration, multiple leak points, or sustained hydrostatic pressure across a long run.
